Website Design Cost by Country (2026)

  • web design prices
  • international

Quick answer

A professionally built small business website typically costs $2,000–$8,000 in the US (freelancer), £1,500–£3,000 in the UK, A$2,000–A$6,000 in Australia, C$3,500–C$5,000 in Canada, S$3,000–S$8,000 in Singapore, €2,500–€6,500 in Ireland and AED 3,500–8,000 in the UAE, based on local pricing guides published in 2026. Agency prices in each market run several times higher. Each country guide below explains the local ranges, taxes and rules in detail.

Website prices are local. The same five-page site can cost three times more in Sydney than in a regional town, and ten times more from a London agency than from a freelancer in Leeds. The series now covers eight countries and ten US states, from California to New Jersey. Each guide looks at one market: what local freelancers and agencies charge, what the local taxes and rules add, and what to ask before you sign. Every figure links to the source it came from.

How to read these numbers

Every range in this series describes a typical small business website: roughly five to ten pages, a contact form, a mobile-friendly design and basic search optimisation. Online shops, booking systems, multiple languages and custom software cost more everywhere. Where a source publishes separate figures for freelancers and agencies, the guides show both, because the gap between them is usually bigger than the gap between countries.

Prices are shown in local currency and exclude local sales taxes unless a guide says otherwise. We don't convert currencies, because exchange rates move faster than web design prices do.

Hiring guides

How these guides are researched

For each market we read the pricing guides that rank for local searches such as "how much does a website cost in Australia", published or updated in the last 12 months, and record the ranges each one gives by provider type and website type. Local rules, such as sales tax rates, accessibility law and language requirements, are checked against government or law-firm sources. Every figure in a guide links back to where it came from, and each guide shows the date it was last checked.

BunkWise designs websites, so these guides also show our own prices for comparison. We have tried to keep that section separate and factual, and to be clear about where a local provider may be the better choice.

Frequently asked questions

Which country has the most expensive website design?

Among the markets in this guide, agency prices are highest in the United States, where Elementor puts a typical agency-built small business site at $10,000–$35,000. London agencies are similar at £8,000–£30,000+ for full-service work, according to ExpertSure.

Why do website prices differ so much between countries?

Mostly because of labour and overhead costs. The work involved in a five-page site is similar everywhere, but designer wages, office rents and taxes are not. Local rules also add work in some markets, such as French versions for businesses selling in Quebec or Arabic versions in the Gulf.

Are the prices in these guides up to date?

Each guide lists the date it was last checked and links to its sources, which are mostly pricing guides published by local agencies and freelancers in 2026. We re-check the figures periodically and update the date when they change.
